Windows gilded with ivy tracery

Ivy

Installation, 2003.
Gilded Windows
Explorations, National Botanic Garden of Wales, Carmarthenshire.

Observing with some surprise that the old servants quarters lacked foliage growing across its front the artist decided to bring the gallery right up and 'into' to the building by gilded ivy leaves across 4 of its windows.

In an act remminiscent of the C18th tradition of bringing nature indoors with foliate wallpapers.
